Job Title: Senior Instructional Designer
Location: Remote (Pacific Time hours: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. or 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

Job Summary:

The Senior Instructional Designer develops strategic training solutions through engaging eLearning and instructor-led courses. This role focuses on creating multimedia-rich content that supports blended learning, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate is an expert in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and eLearning tools, with strong project management and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instructor-led and eLearning training materials.
  • Integrate multimedia elements (audio, video, graphics, animation) into learning solutions.
  • Create course content, storyboards, scripts, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain and revise content in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to scope and plan training solutions.
  • Apply adult learning principles and digital accessibility standards.
  • Stay current with instructional design trends and technologies.
  • Provide LMS support and maintain confidentiality as needed.
  • Mentor junior developers and support team growth.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Gagne, etc.).
  • Expert proficiency in tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Vyond.
  • Strong experience with LMS and CMS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and consulting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience mentoring and introducing innovative training tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in instructional design with a strong portfolio .
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Experience in technical or specialized industries; media production experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in instructional design.
  • Experience in safety and compliance training preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience will be considered.
