\n \n\n \nThe role you’ll contribute:
\n \n\n \nThe Cytotechnologist performs anatomical pathology procedures as licensed. Requires the exercise of independent judgement under minimum supervision. Work customarily involves procedures, which require a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge, and expertise in licensed area(s). Adheres to the AdventHealth Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
\n \n\n \nThe value you’ll bring to the team:
\n \n\n \nPerforms analytical activities related to: 1) microscopic evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological thin layer slide preparations and 2) microscopic evaluation and formulation of an opinion for the pathologist of abnormal gynecological thin layer, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration slide preparations. Correlate current cases with previous cytologic specimens where indicated.
\n \n\n \nPerforms assigned pre-and post-analytical activities related to tests assigned, including specimen collection and processing, quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory control, quality assurance, and efficiency testing procedures.
\n \nPerforms and results molecular testing and/or ancillary testing from the specimen vials and correlates with morphologic findings.
\n \nMay assist in collection of data for research or publication of papers. Ability to read and evaluate published professional literature
\n \n\n \nThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
\n \n\n \nMinimum qualifications:
\n \n\n \nBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
\n \nSuccessful completion of a 12-month Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Cytotechnology program
\n \nCertified Cytotechnologist (ASCP)
\n \nIn licensure states, must hold licensure as a Cytologist for the department or location assignment as applicable to the state -OR - In non-licensure states, must hold a national certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent as a Cytologist unless grandfathered per state requirement
\n \n\n \nPreferred qualifications:
\n \n\n \nThree years of technical experience
\n \nMaster's degree in a related field
