Now hiring a Welder & Fabricator in Waynesboro, PA

Job Description

Pay Rate: $20-$26/hour based on experience

Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm

The welder will be responsible for executing a variety of welding tasks that involve reading and interpreting blueprints from various manufacturing sites. The role requires proficiency in laying out and fitting parts prior to welding, and skillful use of MIG, GMAW, and FCAW welding techniques on different metals. An important aspect of the job includes grinding and polishing welds to ensure quality and detail before inspection.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints from diverse manufacturing sites.
• Lay out and fit all parts and components before tacking and welding.
• Utilize MIG, GMAW, and FCAW welding techniques on metals such as mild steel, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel.
• Grind and polish welds to prepare parts for inspection.
• Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and sit-down forklifts to move parts.

Essential Skills

• Proven skills in structural steel welding and ability to pass a weld test.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and shop math for layout and fitting.
• Ability to use fabrication equipment for cutting, bending, and grinding parts to specification.
• Experience welding carbon steel ranging from 1/8" to 4" using .035/.045/.052 wire.

Work Environment

The weld shop is climate-controlled and organized into cell groups with good ventilation. There are four weld cells per group, and welders have their own space within these cells.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
