Job Description
Position Overview The VDC Design Specialist - Plumbing & Piping is responsible for creating and managing detailed plumbing and piping designs using advanced modeling tools. This role aims to ensure that all designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements while facilitating effective collaboration among project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain comprehensive plumbing and piping models using Revit and other BIM software.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure alignment of design intent and project specifications.
- Conduct clash detection and resolution to prevent conflicts in design and construction phases.
- Prepare construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications for plumbing and piping systems.
- Implement design standards and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency in project delivery.
- Support project management efforts by providing accurate project timelines and resource estimates.
- Assist in the fabrication process by preparing shop drawings and ensuring compliance with design intent.
- Utilize hydraulics and HVAC knowledge to design efficient plumbing and piping systems.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in plumbing and piping design, preferably in a VDC environment.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM software.
- Strong understanding of plumbing design standards and construction documents.
- Experience with clash detection tools and processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
