PIRTEK Lexington is hiring an Outside Sales Representative to sell mobile hydraulic hose repair services to construction, manufacturing, fleet, and industrial customers across Central Kentucky.
This role focuses on new business development with construction companies, manufacturing facilities, trucking fleets, agricultural operations, and field-based service companies across the Lexington region, where unplanned equipment downtime is costly, disruptive, and impacts productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and win new business with companies in construction, aggregate/quarry operations, logistics/trucking, manufacturing, municipal services, agriculture, and equipment rentalkey industries across the Lexington and Central Kentucky market.
- Promote PIRTEKs 24/7/365 mobile on-site hose service with 1-hour ETA , emphasizing fast response times that minimize downtime for equipment vital to Lexingtons rapidly growing construction and industrial sectors.
- Present PIRTEKs full product offering, including:
- Medium to ultra-high-pressure hydraulic hoses
- Industrial hoses for aggregate, chemical, air, and material handling
- D.O.T. air brake hoses and assemblies for fleet operators
- Access to one of the industrys most extensive adapter and fitting catalogs
- Educate customers on preventative maintenance programs that reduce catastrophic hose failures, spills, environmental risks, and unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate with operations and mobile service technicians to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience from quoting to on-site service completion.
- Track and report on sales pipeline activity, call frequency, quotes, and closed business within your assigned Lexington territory.
- Represent PIRTEK at local safety meetings, industry events, fleet expos, construction sites, etc. to build brand awareness and credibility across Central Kentucky.
Ideal Customer Targets (Specific to the Lexington, KY Region)
- Heavy construction and earthmoving contractors working on commercial builds, roadwork, site prep, warehouse/industrial developments, and university/healthcare expansion projects.
- Aggregate and quarry operations in and around Central Kentucky requiring reliable hydraulic hose service for crushers, conveyors, loaders, and haul trucks.
- Trucking and logistics fleets operating along the I-75/I-64 corridors that depend on fast, reliable D.O.T. air brake and hydraulic hose solutions.
- Manufacturing plants (automotive supply, plastics, packaging, metal fabrication, food processing) with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Municipal and utility service providers , including water, sewer, public works, and road maintenance departments.
- Agricultural operations and large farms , including equine facilities, requiring fast response to equipment failures.
- Equipment rental companies (telehandlers, skid steers, excavators, lifts) that rely heavily on hydraulic systems and need rapid on-site support.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of successful outside sales or business development experience , preferably within industrial, MRO, construction equipment, fleet services, agriculture, or related markets.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, industrial hoses, or mechanical equipment is strongly preferredor the mechanical aptitude to learn quickly.
- Proven track record of hunting for new business and building strong customer relationships through consistent in-person visits.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with field supervisors, fleet managers, mechanics, shop foremen, operations leaders, and procurement teams.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record; comfortable spending most of the day in the field visiting customer sites across Central Kentucky.
