Overview Join the Cincinnati Children’s Office of Academic Affairs and Career Development as a Muslim Chaplain . The role focuses on providing spiritual care to Muslim patients and families while supporting the broader healthcare team across faiths in this specialized setting. Responsibilities Provide spiritual care specifically to Muslim patients/families, in addition to spiritual care to people/clinical staff of all faiths Advocate for patients/families Educate the healthcare teams about the impact of Muslim religious/spiritual beliefs on coping and medical decision‑making Teach colleagues about Islam & Islamic culture Cultivate relationships with local Muslim leaders and communities Qualifications Graduate‑level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Accreditation 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education offered through an ACPE accredited organization Ordination, current endorsement, or good standing in accordance with the requirements of the Muslim faith tradition and/or endorsing agency Board Certification (or eligibility) recognized by at least one of the following: Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Professional Chaplains, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains, or as agreed upon by the Director of the Center for Spiritual & Grief Care that meets the Common Qualifications and Competencies for Professional Chaplains ( Within three years from hire date, complete and submit the application for Board Certification with the appropriate faith group or governing body 2–4 years of chaplaincy experience preferred Arabic language skills, or another spoken language in addition to English preferred Location Burnet Campus, 3333 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229 Schedule Part‑time, 20 hours per week. Rotating (United States of America) with possible evening/night and weekend differentiations. Shift patterns include a $4.00 per hour differential for evening/night shifts and a $5.00 per hour differential for weekend shifts. Pay Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status: $53,705.60 – $67,142.40.
