Job Description

Description The Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) provides education for patients of the clinic, coordinates counseling and testing for patients within the Maternal and Fetal Specialty Center. Assists with appointment scheduling and clinic flow, manages coordination of joint visits with genetic counselors and other providers in the MFM clinic. Acts as the primary phone contact for the genetic counseling team; triages incoming calls from patients, physicians, and laboratories. Escorts patients to laboratory for blood draws or collection of saliva samples for genetic testing. Prepares paperwork of blood or saliva samples for transportation to laboratories within and outside of the organization. Providence Swedish caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable.
