About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Space Planning and Design to lead the strategic development of space planning and optimization strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the physical spaces of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science align with the institution's growth projections and vision for an integrated ecosystem that fosters engineering-led research. This role involves close collaboration with departmental and school leadership to assess space needs, provide recommendations for space utilization, and manage the design process for new construction and renovation projects. The Executive Director will also be tasked with incorporating sustainable practices, coordinating the integration of technology, and overseeing multiple concurrent projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 8 years' related experience, and a proven track record in space planning and capital project management. The role requires proficiency in architectural and construction management, exceptional communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a demonstrated capacity for leadership and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience in a higher education or research environment and a Master's degree in a related field. Responsibilities also include budgeting, financial oversight, system management, and providing analytical support for space planning and utilization. The Executive Director will be expected to lead design initiatives that comply with all relevant regulations and standards, and to continuously seek opportunities for process improvement, sustainability, and innovation in space management.
