Thompson Coburn is seeking an associate attorney with 2-5 years of relevant legal experience to join its environmental practice group in the St. Louis office. Relevant experience may include practice in a private law firm, in-house counsel position, employment with a government entity, or judicial, governmental, or academic clerkships/internships. We are seeking candidates with exceptional research, analytical, writing, and argument/presentation skills with a detail-oriented mindset. Ideal candidates will have experience in preparing and responding to written discovery, preparing for depositions, drafting motions and briefs, and advising clients both in writing and verbally. The firm will be interested in a person with substantive experience in handling issues arising under state and federal environmental laws, including CERCLA, RCRA, EPCRA, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act. Some experience in assessing potential environmental risks and concerns in real estate and other transactional matters is a plus.
