Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Director of Development & Fundraising Strategy to lead our fundraising and donor relations efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of donors, cultivating new sponsorships, and supporting fundraising events to drive the success of the foundation. You will work closely with the Head of the Foundation to implement strategies for increasing donations, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring that our mission continues to grow and succeed. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, particularly focused on youth development, and have a proven track record of securing significant contributions.

Responsibilities:

Donor Relations & Portfolio Management:

• Manage and nurture relationships with a portfolio of individual donors, corporate sponsors, and key partners, ensuring long-term engagement and support.
• Provide exceptional stewardship to current and potential donors, keeping them informed about the impact of their contributions and fostering deeper connections.

Fundraising Strategy & Execution:

• Lead the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to secure new contributions and increase revenue.
• Work closely with the Head of the Foundation to plan and execute major fundraising campaigns, with a focus on donor acquisition and retention.
• Oversee and expand our recurring donor program to increase long-term sustainability.

Event & Gala Planning:

• Lead the planning and logistics of fundraising events and galas, ensuring smooth execution and maximizing donor participation and contributions.
• Engage with donors, sponsors, and guests at events to strengthen relationships and secure future commitments.

Grant Writing & Sponsorships:

• Identify, research, and apply for grants aligned with the foundation’s mission and goals.
• Secure sponsorships for events, working directly with corporate partners to negotiate and deliver mutually beneficial agreements.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement:

• Develop and implement strategies for donor recognition, ensuring donors are acknowledged and feel valued for their contributions.
• Prepare communication materials, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and regular updates, to maintain engagement and inspire continued support.

Fundraising Technology & Tools:

• Utilize donor research tools like iWave, TeamRaiser, OneCause, and BidPal to track and analyze donor data, manage campaigns, and optimize engagement strategies (with the support of the marketing team).

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of managing multi million dollar donor portfolios, securing sponsorships, and running successful fundraising campaigns.
• Event Planning: Extensive experience planning and executing fundraising events and galas, with a strong ability to engage donors and sponsors.
• Fundraising Tools & Technology: Experience using donor management systems (e.g., iWave, OneCause, TeamRaiser, BidPal) for donor research, campaign management, and engagement.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, reports, and presentations.
• Passion for Youth Empowerment: A strong commitment to the foundation’s mission to empower at-risk youth through mentorship, financial literacy, and education.
• Donor-Centered Approach: Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with donors, sponsors, and key partners.

Note that this position is based in Aventura, FL. Only candidates within a commutable distance will be considered at this time. This is a fully onsite position.
