Nightingale's List is seeking a local contract Correctional RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for a local contract job in San Luis Obispo, California.

Overview:
Join our healthcare team at this Correctional Facility as a Registered Dietitian, where you’ll play a critical role in assessing and managing the nutritional needs of inmates. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to support patient health through clinical nutrition in a secure and collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current and valid registration as a Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) for practice in California.
• A minimum of 12 continuous months of recent, relevant experience within the last 3 years in a comparable clinical setting (internships not applicable).
• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken, to ensure accurate documentation and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical nutrition therapy based on physician orders and institutional protocols.
• Conduct nutrition assessments and follow-up counseling for diverse clinical conditions, including diabetes, renal disease, and chronic illness.
• Develop and adjust individualized dietary care plans and therapeutic diets in collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams.
• Participate in treatment planning, staff training, and food service oversight to ensure safe, evidence-based dietary practices.
• Ensure compliance with Title 22, food safety standards, and institutional dietary policies.
• Prepare reports documenting patient care, nutrition outcomes, and recommendations for dietary program improvement.
• Maintain a safe, professional, and secure work environment in accordance with CDCR policies and regulations.

Nightingale's List Job ID #ZR_504_JOBT. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
