Your Opportunity

Kathairos Solutions is hiring a motivated, detail-oriented Business Development Specialist to accelerate commercial growth in the upstream and midstream oil and gas sector. This entry-to-intermediate level role is responsible for identifying, developing, and qualifying high-probability leads that drive topline revenue.

You will leverage public, proprietary, and third-party oil and gas data to uncover new market opportunities and target high-conversion prospects. Over 50% of the role involves outbound, self-directed engagementinitiating contact, delivering tailored messaging, and advancing prospects through Kathairos lead-to-opportunity process. Your outreach will include phone, email, digital platforms, and industry events, with a focus on articulating our methane abatement value proposition and qualifying interest against defined commercial criteria. Success in this role requires a hunter mindset, persistence in reaching decision-makers, and consistent, high-quality pipeline generation.

Strong analytical skills, commercial instincts, and clear communication will be key to your success. You should bring a working knowledge of the oil and gas industry and the ability to collaborate effectively with commercial, marketing, and technical teams.

This role is integral to Kathairos revenue enginecreating qualified opportunities that reduce sales cycle time and expand our customer base. It offers early-career professionals a high-impact platform to develop sales expertise within a mission-driven organization at the forefront of methane emissions reduction.

Your Responsibilities

  • Market & Prospect Research: Identify and analyze operators with high methane reduction potential using various datasets. Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to refine targeting strategies.
  • Lead Enrichment & Prioritization: Enhance prospect profiles, map key decision-makers, and segment leads based on criteria such as basin, operator size, facility type, and emissions exposure. Maintain a prioritized outreach list in CRM.
  • Prospect Outreach & Qualification: Engage targeted prospects through outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn. Deliver compelling messaging on Kathairos methane abatement value proposition, qualify opportunities, and guide leads through the pipeline.
  • Sales Administration & Reporting: Track and report outreach, conversion, and pipeline metrics. Maintain CRM updates and collaborate with Business Development on account handoffs and strategic planning.
  • Customer Support: Assist existing accounts with product inquiries, scheduling, and follow-ups. Support pilot deployments and document customer feedback to enhance offerings.

What You Offer

Required (Must have):

  • Bachelors degree in business, Energy Management, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related engineering field.
  • 15 years of professional experience in sales development, market research, commercial operations, or oil and gas services.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct self-directed market research and convert data into actionable commercial insights.
  • Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage leads, track engagement, and report on pipeline progression.
  • Proficiency with data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau; experience working with oil and gas datasets is a strong plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft tailored outreach messaging for technical and commercial audiences.
  • Comfortableexecuting outbound prospecting and cold engagement strategies across phone, email, and digital platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen and intuition, with a proactive, results-driven mindset and hunter mentality for lead generation.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple leads and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across functions whilemaintaining accountability for individual performance metrics

Valued (Nice to have):

  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent applicable work experience
  • Knowledge of upstream and midstream oil and gas operations, including emissions footprints and regulatory considerations.
  • Familiarity with development and application of coding languages/ systems such as Python, R, and SQL for performing data extraction, transformation,analysis and visualization
