Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst - Project Lead for a critical, long-term contract opportunity to support complex, change-oriented projects in the public health sector. This position is central to evaluating agency needs, defining business processes, and ensuring successful IT and non-technical solution delivery.

• Location: Columbia, SC (1801 Main Street)
• Duration: 12 months
• Dress Code: Business casual to casual, occasionally formal

Key Daily Duties

The principal focus is on analysis and advice regarding strategies for IT and non-technical solutions, including:

• Evaluating agency needs, as-is and to-be business processes, and technical designs.
• Providing detailed analysis and documentation of business processes and requirements.
• Serving as a liaison between the business programs community and the IT organization.
• Analyzing business partner operations to identify opportunities to automate processes and functions.
• Translating high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and managing changes to those specifications.
• Proactively identifying risks, issues, and action items.

Required Skills (Highly Important)

• At least seven years of experience in commercial healthcare .
• At least three years' experience in State Medicaid payer system integration and delivery .
• Experience with inner workings of cross-functional projects.
• Familiarity with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) business architecture principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• General Subject Matter Expertise as it relates to Medicaid or other healthcare insurance experience (project or operations).
• MMIS experience (project or operations).
• Familiarity with standard data structures, electronic data interchange, processes, and related file formats.
• Interest, skill, and ability to innovate (including business processes, methods/procedures, and technology).
• Microsoft Office Project/Project Server

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field.
