Job Description
Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) is a nationally recognized, community-based youth development center, with the mission of empowering youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through comprehensive and innovative programs that address youths' social, academic, and career needs. Each year, LAYC works with approximately 5,000 children, teens, and families through a network of youth centers, housing programs, school-based sites, and public charter schools that offer a comprehensive set of high-quality programs.
LAYC-DC AmeriCorps Education program provides the opportunity for those who are considering a career in youth development, social service, to try their hand in a real-world setting and gain tons of useful skills. AmeriCorps members serve the communities by working as Youth Developers serving elementary, middle, high schools, and young adult youth. LAYC-DC AmeriCorps Education Department has 3 AmeriCorps positions; 2 Full Time Positions (Total Contract Hours 900/ Mon-Fri 9am-6pm) and 1 Part Time Position (Total Contract Hours 300/ Hours Vary) available that will provide support to our After School Programs and Summer Programs. All positions are slated to end on August 31st 2025.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 10 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
